Cyberbullying can be described as an act of harassing someone through the internet. With the growth of World Wide Web, internet and social networking the world is facing big safety concerns for the users. Each day hundreds and thousands of issues of security arise over the internet especially among teenagers and children. Social networking sites like Facebook and Twitter have become the hub of cyberbullying especially for high school students. Various suicides have been reported because of the taunts and negative comments on social networking sites.
Cyberbullying results in long term psychological impacts on the minds of bullied. The impact of bullying can result in a damaged personality. The affected people at times develop a sense of revenge and such crude negativity in their personality that it perpetually damages the way they view themselves and the world. This also leads to depression and anxiety. In extreme circumstances, cyberbullying also forces the bullied to attempt suicide.
